Meet the Chef
Larry Mullally’s culinary journey reflects perseverance and passion. Inspired by his father’s home-cooked meals, Larry began his career at the Lodge at Woodloch in Hawley, PA, starting as a dishwasher and rising to sous chef within two years under Executive Chef Peter Schott. He cooked for notable guests including Tyra Banks, Aretha Franklin, and Mark Ruffalo. A lover of Italian and Mediterranean cuisines, Larry focuses on scratch cooking and locally sourced ingredients. He later opened Paupack Smokehouse in Greentown, PA, earning consistent 4-star ratings for its in-house smoked meats and catering services. His expertise also led him to roles as Executive Chef at several notable Poconos restaurants, including Wallenpaupack Brewing Company, where he helped launch the kitchen and was featured by the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau. After a brief hiatus to focus on community service and personal growth, Larry returned to the culinary world as Catering Chef Manager at The University of Scranton. A natural mentor, Larry thrives on inspiring and supporting the next generation of chefs. Outside the kitchen, he pursues art, tattooing, and custom shoe design, which he turned into a successful side business during the COVID-19 pandemic.
